We all know that regular servicing of your car will help you squeeze the last drop out of every litre of liquid gold (also known a fuel), but there are other things you can do to make sure you are getting the best fuel economy from your engine, and obviously the lower running costs
Always use the lowest viscosity oil recommended for your car.
Thick oil creates drag and high friction loads that the fuel injection system does not know about.Using thick oil will damage your engine, reduce power and reduce your fuel economy.
Thicker oils do not protect your engine better in fact because they take longer to reach critical areas in your engine they can cause long term damage and can break down faster in your engine.
Good oils have what’s known as a “suitable add pack” for the engine and conditions, and will perform better between service intervals and react appropriately to driving conditions in your engine.
The engine’s own computer program will be making the correct assumptions on drag and the fuel efficiency of your engine will be retained.
